It's not a bag of tricks.
ADHD coaching isn’t just about tips and tricks, hacks and workarounds. It's about seeing yourself as a whole human, the good and the not-so-functional parts of ADHD. It's about learning your own brain and learning to wipe the smoke off the windows in the lighthouse so you and everyone around you can see your light shine. It's about shifting your thought patterns, telling the negative self-talk to take a hike and replacing or reframing those statements into non-toxic balm to encourage you to keep on growing. Its about embracing your curiosity, replacing fear of failure with a “trial and error and retry a different way” mindset.
It's about having an accountability partner who will ask you challenging questions, while laughing and crying along with you because they have ADHD too and they have been right where you are today.
It's about knowing there's someone else out there who "gets it," and doesn't roll their eyes when you try to explain.
It's about having someone who can both hold your hand when you need a lift, and kick you in the pants (figuratively) when you need a little nudge.
It's about having someone you can send a picture of the piles in your living room floor, and they will help you figure out where to start on them with no judgment.
It's about knowing there's another person out there who knows you're trying, and is cheering you on while sharing their knowledge with you.
